Example Table Breakdown
#: Temporary image number.
PICNM: Picture name.
EMISS: Emission angle; This angle is determined by the current topography.
COV: Coverage; This is the fraction of the landmark covered by the image.
ILL: Illumination; This is the fraction of the landmark that is not in shadow.
RES: Resolution; This is the image resolution divided by the GSD. Often times the RES value will be slightly different than what would be calculated by hand. I suspect this is the case because the picture is orthorectified before determining the image resolution, hence the image resolution listed in PICINFO.TXT (from RESIDUALS) is only valid at the center of the image. If I am correct, then the image resolution effectively decreases towards the edges of the image.
#LMK: Number of landmarks added to that picture.
PHASE: Phase angle of the image.
INV: Percentage of pixels that are "invisible", which means the pixel cannot be seen because it is blocked, such as the bottom of a crater in an oblique view. Listed as part per thousand, so 2.7% would display as 27.
+/-: The last column contains an * if the image resolution is more than three times higher or lower than the maplet scale.
Example Options Breakdown
c. Continue: Same as entering "q".
a. Auto remove: Will display the following grid, then ask for auto remove parameters. Each entry on the grid shows the number of images that are found in that bin. Typical auto-remove parameters are (0,60,.25,.25,0,3).
Rows: This the emission angle, and is based upon the current topography. So if the topography is poor you may eliminate pictures you want to keep and/or keep pictures you want to eliminate.
Columns: ??? Something to do with image resolution and GSD, but I am not sure.

Input INVLIM, SLIM, CLIM, ILIM, RSMN, RSMX
INVLIM: Value that represents the maximum fraction of points in the image that can be "invisible". "Invisible" means the pixel cannot be seen because it is blocked, such as the bottom of a crater in an oblique view. The number entered is thousandths of a fraction, so 27 would be 2.7%. Typically this value is just set to 0.
SLIM: Maximum emission angle that is allowed.
CLIM: Coverage limit. Minimum fraction of maplet overlapped by image.
ILIM: Illumination limit. Minimum fraction of maplet covered by illuminated image.
RSMN: Minimum allowed ratio of image resolution (km/px) to maplet scale.
RSMX: Maximum allowed ratio of image resolution (km/px) to maplet scale.
m. Manual remove: Will prompt you to enter in the image number (NOT the picture number like it says!) you wish to remove. You can enter in a single image number followed by "Enter" for each image, or you can enter a range of numbers separated by a comma. So 1,5 would mean delete images 1 through 5. Enter in "0" followed by "Enter" to quit. An example can be seen below.
input number of picture to remove. 0 to quit. 1,5 10 0
n. Auto remove (new pictures): Same as "Auto remove" (option "a"), but will only delete images added while loading (i.e. input ["i"] followed by "y").
o. Remove low-correlation pix: Assuming you have performed an alignment such as 1-0-1, this option can be used to remove all images that are below the user entered threshold. So if you enter "0.2", all images with a correlation below 0.2 will be removed.
p. Prune landmark: Randomly eliminates images of forms specified in INIT_LITHOS.TXT if the landmark contains more than a set number of images. This has only been used for MESSENGER where the limit is typically about 500. [Taken from LITHOS.f]
v. Check peripheral visibility: Not typically used. Removes images in which part of the maplet is obscured by another part of the body. [Taken from LITHOS.f]
t. Auto change topo flags: Not typically used. Filters the images in thesame way as options a and n, but instead of being eliminated, a flag is set in the landmark file that prevents the image from being used to determine the maplet topography. However, it is still used in the geometry solution for landmark location. [Taken from LITHOS.f]
l. Change low-correlation topo flags: Not typically used. Is similar to option t, except images whose correlation with the illuminated maplet is less than a specified value is flagged. [Taken from LITHOS.f]
Standard Inputs
When auto-remove ask you to "input Input INVLIM, SLIM, CLIM, ILIM, RSMN, RSMX", the standard input is "0,60,.25,.25,0,3".
