1. Normal from radius vector - The normal is set to be the same as the radius vector. Keep in mind that the normal is the same as the radius vector everywhere if the object is a sphere. Rarely will conditions on an asteroid be such that this option will be correct.
2. Normal from heights - The normal is determined from the average of the heights in the maplet. This option is the one that will be used almost exclusively.
3. Normal from shape - The normal is determined from the shape model.
4. Normal from stereo - ???
Most Common Usage
The vast majority of the time option "2" is used.
